YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE
Dear Landlord,
I want to tell you something about what has taken place in my life, since I moved into your apartment complex, in 2011. But first, let me tell you a bit about my life, just so you will know what kind of person I truly am, since we have never really had the chance to visit together in a comfortable setting.
My name is Roxine Cherie' Evans. My GOD given name is Cina pronounced, (seena). My middle name, Cherie' means DEAR. I am DEAR meaning, I am dear to all who enter my life. I am kind, patient, gentle, loving, compassionate, friendly, joyful, peaceful, happy, tender, warm, lovely, sweet, in other words, I am love.
My middle name was given to me by GOD when I was still growing in my mother's womb. My sister at the time was 1 year old when my mother was trying to decide what she should call me if I were born a girl and when she said the name, Roxine, my 1 year old sister replied to her, Cina.
So, now you can call me Cina.
I was born in 1951. My Grandparents on my mother's side, came from Poland, in the 1920's. My Grandparents on my father's side, were from the American Indian Bloodline. Their last name was Fox. My Polish Grandparents, John & Gladys Smith moved to Camden, NY in the '40's. They purchased a beautiful Victorian home right on the main street at the very entrance of Camden, the Queen Village of the USA.
They then purchased a beautiful hotel in Florence, NY called "The Florence Hotel" in the early '50's. Soon after that, they purchased the only nursing home in Camden that they called, "The Davis Nursing Home." My Grandmother, Gladys, "Nanny", was a registered nurse. She and her sister ran the nursing home, while Grandfather, "Nanny Pop" as my sister and I called him, ran the hotel in Florence, a few miles outside of Camden.
As I grew up along side of my sweet older sister, Michelle, our lives were filled with joy beyond description. To live inside of my Grandparents beautiful Victorian home, visit the Elderly people at the nursing home, and watching all the happy customers singing and dancing to the wonderful country music flowing from my Grandparent's hotel at night, while sitting ever so closely beside my sister, at the top of the long stairway inside of the hotel, was literally breathtaking for me. I was so full of joy simply because of my wonderful surroundings. To wake up every day inside of a lovely home filled with peace and sunlight, warmth and security was absolutely wonderful. To hear my mother sweetly singing as we prepared ourselves for the day, was quite a nice experience for my sister and I. We knew only joy and calm.
As we would leave our Grandmother's home, to drive to their hotel where Nanny would prepare her delicious Polish meals for her customers of the day, upon arrival, my sister and I would jump out of their big, beautiful car and dash straight up the hill to run and enjoy the country side, fresh air and beautiful scenery that simply enveloped our every breath. Only a few yards up the hill from the hotel, was and still is today, the second oldest Catholic church in the United States. St Mary's. My sister and I would visit GOD's house as we called it, every day and just sit quietly beside one another, all alone, and we would pray to JESUS. I would make it my daily visit to GOD's House for the years that followed. It became my Sanctuary, my Holy Place. As I would walk up that small dirt road to go to GOD's House every single morning, I would sing as I walked on the stubbly stones, "I am going to GOD's House, I walk Holy as I walk to GOD's House to pray to JESUS." My new name was given to me during those times of prayer at GOD's House, "HolyWalker." I was a Holy Walker when I was only 5 years old, in 1956.
My heart and mind was instilled with love, peace and joy from the time I was born. I knew no other way of living or being. To this very day, those virtues are forever deeply embedded in not only my mind and body but also, my very Soul.
I am Cina. I am love. I know no other way to be. ...to be continued in Part 2
